Zhiwei Hu (Pronounciation: Juh-Way Hoo) is a PhD candidate at the School of Information Management, Nanjing University (NJU), where he also serves as a postgraduate research assistant at the Laboratory of Data Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Innovation. Zhiwei earned both his MSc in Information Science and BSc in Information Management and Systems from NJU, focusing on intellectual structures, interdisciplinarity and education within Library and Information Science (LIS). From September 2025 to September 2026, Zhiwei also joins the School of Advanced Study, University of London, as a visiting postgraduate researcher, supported by the China Scholarship Council.

Zhiwei’s research interests lie at the intersection of Scientometrics, Digital Humanities (DH), Academic Community Studies, and Quantitative Policy Analysis. His current PhD project investigates on division of labour and knowledge integration within interdisciplinary research teams, with the DH community serving as a key research context.

Zhiwei has presented his work at international conferences such as iConference and the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association Annual Event, and his studies have been published in several leading journals. Beyond research, Zhiwei has been actively engaging in collaborative projects on interdisciplinary education reform, data policy simulation and smart city data spaces, aiming to bridge academic inquiry with real-world applications.
